MANILA, Philippines — Actress and beauty queen Kylie Verzosa has announced her engagement to her non-showbiz partner, entrepreneur Emil Eriksen.
Verzosa announced the engagement Friday, Feb. 6, through Instagram Stories, sharing a selfie of the couple in an embrace as she displayed her engagement ring.
“It was the best hike ever,” she wrote.
The Miss International 2016 titleholder later revealed that Eriksen proposed during a spontaneous hike in Côte d’Azur, France. More photos followed, including shots of the couple against a scenic landscape and a close-up of her diamond ring during breakfast together.
“Best three years with you,” Verzosa wrote in another post. “Best trip ever.”
The announcement coincided with an exclusive feature released by L’Officiel Philippines in partnership with Tiffany & Co.. In her interview, Verzosa shared details of the proposal, which happened at the end of the hiking trail.
“Of course, I said yes,” she said. “It was an easy yes!”
Verzosa also disclosed that the engagement was not recent.
“I’ve been keeping this for six months now,” she wrote as she reposted the magazine feature on her Instagram Stories.
The actress has been vocal about keeping her relationship private. In April 2024, she confirmed she was dating a non-showbiz partner and said the decision to stay out of the spotlight was “more peaceful.” She later shared that they met through a mutual friend and expressed hope that the relationship would eventually lead to marriage, noting that having children and becoming a mother are part of her long-term plans.
Verzosa, who was crowned Miss International in 2016, was previously in a relationship with actor Jake Cuenca.
