BILD says United are eager to prise Kroos away from Madrid in January.
United would be willing to offer about 67m for the German, who at 29 remains one of the most reliable midfielders on the world scene.
For their part, Real welome the interest, since, being United are the interested party, it opens up the possibility of incorporating Kroos in an operation involving their great target: Paul Pogba.
The question remains, however, is whether Kroos would be willing to sign for a club that does not play in the Champions League.
