HUNDREDS of Makati residents received free medical consultations, laboratory tests, and medicines through the “Lab For All: Laboratoryo, Konsulta, at Gamot Para sa Lahat” health care initiative held in the city on Tuesday.
The community-based medical outreach, led by first lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, was conducted in several Makati communities before culminating at the Makati Coliseum on June 23.
The program provided residents with free health services, including ECG for individuals aged 35 and above, urinalysis, blood sugar tests, BMI assessment, hemoglobin testing, cholesterol and uric acid screening, chest X-ray, fetal Doppler, ultrasound for pregnant women, medical consultations, and medicines good for 15 days.
Before the main event, medical missions were conducted in Barangay Valenzuela on June 19, Barangay Carmona on June 20, and Barangay Guadalupe Viejo on June 21.
Makati City Mayor Nancy Binay said the initiative strengthens preventive health care by allowing residents to detect possible health concerns early and seek medical attention.
“Preventive health care is one of the most effective ways to build healthier communities. By providing free consultations, diagnostic services, and medicines, Lab For All empowers residents to detect health concerns early and seek timely treatment,” Binay said.
Also, the mayor said the program supports efforts to expand access to health care services in line with Republic Act 11223 or the Universal Health Care Act.
