A man was looted of Rs 4,000 and his mobile phone in a late night robbery which took place at Sultanpur Lodhi’s Akal Chak Colony.

A video of the snatching has gone viral on social media and raises serious questions about the safety of people amid hooligans frequenting the area.

The incident happened near a private school at Sultanpur Lodhi. The victim has been identified as a daily wager who was walking home with his son. He was threatened by the miscreants, who later fled the spot.

As per reports, the labourer was walking with his son on a deserted road, when two bike-borne men suddenly stopped near them and one of them tried to snatch his belongings. A scuffle ensued in which the labour tried hard to extricate himself and save his possessions but the man, succeeded in snatching away his belonging from him and fled.

The activity of the miscreants is caught on the CCTV camera. While one of the men kept sitting on the bike, the other snatched a mobile and a bag from the labourer, even not sparing the child when he came to his father’s aid. The snatcher threatened the labourer with a sharp-edged weapon.

The Sultanpur Lodhi police said the incident happened five or six days ago and came to the police’s knowledge through the viral video. The police said so far, nol complaint had been registered by the victim.
