LABUAN: Labuan Barisan Nasional (BN) has launched a 10-point manifesto for the 15th General Election (GE15), with the aim of improving the wellbeing of the people and the trading community in this federal territory.

BN candidate for the Labuan parliamentary seat, Datuk Bashir Alias, said these include strengthening economic development programmes with the participation of youths; enhancing educational achievements with the construction of Maktab Rendah Sains Mara; reducing cost of living; building more affordable houses; and boosting women participation in socio-economic development.

The other promises are fighting for welfare of fishermen; upgrading drainage and anti-coastal erosion systems; improving basic infrastructure quality like water and electricity supply, and telecommunications facilities; diversifying the economic and tourism sectors; and enhancing Labuan’s stability and prosperity.

“These promises are on longstanding issues which have burdened the people and require concrete resolution,” he said when launching the manifesto.

Bashir is involved in a six-cornered fight with incumbent Datuk Rozman Isli of Parti Warisan, Datuk Suhaili Abd Rahman (Perikatan Nasional), Datuk Dr Ramli Tahir (Pakatan Harapan), Dayang [email protected] Mohd Din (Parti Bangsa Malaysia) and Datuk Seri Ramle Mat Daly (Pejuang).
