LABUAN: While lauding the formation of a special task force to examine the feasibility of constructing the proposed Labuan-Menumbok bridge, Labuan Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) on Tuesday urged for the social implications of the project to also be thoroughly evaluated.

Labuan PBS Chief Datuk Peter Mak said it is important for the special task force to consider various aspects beyond just economic viability before reaching a conclusion.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Dr Zaliha Mustafa announced the formation of the special task force in her reply to Labuan Member of Parliament Datuk Dr Suhaili Abd Rahman in Parliament on Monday (March 25).

Mak, who is also PBS Vice-President, highlighted that while economic feasibility is crucial, the social implications of the bridge project should also be thoroughly evaluated.
