LABUAN: The Labuan Chinese and Indian chambers of commerce hailed the appointment of former Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman as a Senator representing Labuan, saying it augurs well for the island.
“With the appointment, Labuan is effectively connected with Sabah and this is good as the island needs the attention of both Putrajaya and Kota Kinabalu to move forward,” they said.
Labuan Chinese Chamber of Commerce Chairman Datuk Wong Kii Yii hoped Anifah, being the first non-local resident Senator, will meet the people to better understand Labuan issues and address them.
