LABUAN: Have more industries established here to create employment and spur the local economy. This is better than investing in a costly Labuan-Menumbok bridge of which the economic gains to the island are uncertain, says Labuan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Datuk Dahlif Singh.
He said limited job opportunities have caused hundreds to flee the island, causing its economy to be stagnant.
A career programme here last year saw 3,000 job seekers, including graduates, crowding booths to apply for 83 available vacancies.
