LABUAN: The Labuan Indian Chamber of Commerce and the Labuan Women’s Affairs Association (Hawa) have expressed support to the proposal by Member of Parliament Datuk Suhaili Abdul Rahman for the Government to build a new modern ro-ro ferry terminal to replace the existing one sandwiched between the port and the Labuan International Ferry terminal.
Chamber Chairman Datuk Dahlif Singh said the MP is talking facts and the new Unity Government should seriously consider it.
“The cost of a new upgraded ro-ro terminal should not be an issue considering the Federal Government collected about RM1 billion in taxes from the export of petroleum-related products from the island, making Labuan not a liability.
