Kota Kinabalu: Not having a KadazanDusunMurut (KDM) representative in the Labuan Corporation Advisory Council is a blatant show of discrimination and disrespect, a leader in the community said.
Kadazandusun Cultural Association (KDCA) Supreme Council member Peter Pikul said the lack of a KDM representative in the recently appointed seven-member panel deprives the community of a voice in the council.
“Not having at least a KDM representative in the local council blatantly and directly deprives the community of a voice, particularly from the grassroots, in the affairs of the island, especially those touching on their wellbeing and welfare,” he said in a statement.
