The Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation Pakistan organised a solemn ceremony at the Democratic Lawn of the Lahore High Court Bar to mark the 118th birth anniversary of legendary freedom fighter Sukhdev Thapar, a close associate of Bhagat Singh.
Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi, the chairman of the foundation, told this correspondent from Lahore that the programme featured a cake-cutting ceremony and was attended by lawyers, political and social activists, students and members of civil society, who paid heartfelt tributes to the revolutionary icon and remembered his sacrifices for the freedom of the subcontinent.
The event was presided over by foundation chairman Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi. Among the prominent participants were Mian Ghulam Ullah Khan Joiya, Advocate Supreme Court; Syed Waqar Hussain Shah Jangi, Central Secretary General of the Pakistan Democratic Party and others.
