The post (now deleted) revealed his mother’s friend convinced her to buy the pants and even join a sales group. The red flag? Recruiting others, a classic MLM tactic.
Furious, “@MusytaqAshari” denounced the exorbitant price and dubious health claims, finding support from netizens who shared similar MLM scam experiences.
His frustration was compounded by his mother’s sole income coming from her laksa stall. The hard-earned RM800 was gone, spent on overpriced “tights” as he called them.
Despite explaining the MLM scheme, his mother remained convinced of the pants’ benefits, leaving him helpless and frustrated.
This incident highlights the dangers of such schemes preying on vulnerable individuals.
