LaLiga president Javier Tebas has apologised to Real Madrid attacker Vinicius Jr over his response to Sunday's controversy at Valencia.
Tebas and Vincius exchanged barbs over social media after the player accused LaLiga of failing to act on racial abuse he had received.
"I think the message and the intention that I had, an important part (of people), especially in Brazil, was not understood," Tebas told ESPN Brasil.
"I didn't want to attack Vinicius, but if most people understood it that way, I need to apologise. It was not my intention.
"I expressed myself badly, at a bad time.... But I had no intention of attacking Vinicius, but to clarify a situation, because Vinicius had recorded a video in support of La Liga's actions."
