Kuala Lumpur, June 20, 2024.- Once the announcement was made at the beginning of May, the inaugural season of the LALIGA YOUTH LEAGUE in Malaysia is set to commence this Saturday, June 22nd, 2024. Malaysia has been the country chosen to see the birth of this innovative international LALIGA project, showcasing the organization’s commitment to developing young talent and fostering a love for football across Asia, and specifically, in Malaysia.
A total of 83 teams will compete in LALIGA YOUTH LEAGUE, representing various age groups including U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, and U21. This diverse age range ensures that young athletes at different stages of development will have the opportunity to play, learn, and grow. The league is not just a weekend tournament but a comprehensive two years program designed to provide sustained, competitive play that nurtures skill development and teamwork.
LALIGA YOUTH LEAGUE will unfold across four distinguished venues: SP Sports Park, LaLaPort Mall, Do Arena Ampang, and Universiti Putra Malaysia. And the league proudly features teams from multiple Malaysian states such as Johor, Terengganu, Kedah, Perak, Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya. This representation from across the country underscores the league’s inclusive ethos and its aim to unite communities through sport.
This project is one more case of LALIGA’s dedication to nurturing the grassroots of football extends globally. In Malaysia, this commitment has been exemplified through the successful LALIGA YOUTH TOURNAMENT. With three editions already completed, the fourth is set to take place this year, from July 12th to 14th, at the prestigious University Putra Malaysia (UPM). These tournaments are a testament to LALIGA’s ongoing efforts to nurture and raise the standard of youth football, providing platforms for young talents to develop.
