While residents in Klang Valley deal with flash floods, those en route to Cameron Highlands yesterday (November 13) couldn’t proceed with their journey.

In a statement, the Chief Police of the Cameron Highland district, Superintendent Azri Bin Ramli, said a landslide occurred around 3:45 PM at Jalan Tapah, Cameron Highlands. The landslide trapped a motorcyclist under a pile of fallen trees. Fortunately, the rider was successfully rescued without any injuries.

Two cars were also involved in an accident after a Honda City stopped suddenly to avoid the landslide. The incident also caused rapid water movement downhill from the landslide area.

As a result, traffic congestion occurred in both directions.

The police received reports from the public about the matter at 4 PM and as of 6:15 PM yesterday, cleaning work was completed and the road was accessible to the public.
