Langkawi MP ‘come without wearing anything’ remark causes uproar in Parliament

PETALING JAYA – A remark by Datuk Mohd Suhaimi Abdullah (Langkawi-PN) caused an uproar in the Dewan Rakyat when he invited Teresa Kok to Langkawi even if she was not wearing anything.

Kok (Seputeh-PH) had earlier asked Suhaimi if visitors were allowed to wear shorts in Langkawi.

“I want to invite YB Seputeh to Langkawi even if she is not wearing anything,” he said, prompting other MPs to stand up and ask him to retract his statement.

Deputy Dewan Rakyat speaker Alice had also told him to sit down, as he had already exceeded his time.

“Why are you (Seputeh) asking about shorts? I want to imagine what Seputeh wears when she comes to Langkawi,” he said, prompting Lau to once again ask him to sit down.

“Time is up. Enough, sit down,” she said.

As more MPs asked Suhaimi to sit down, Kok also stood up and said his thoughts were obscene.

“This is obscene. Your thoughts are not pure,” she said.

Chong Zhemin (Kampar-PH) also asked Suhaimi to retract his statement, stressing that being naked was against the law.

“Please, everyone, sit down…do not waste any more time,” ordered the deputy speaker as more MPs stood up in Kok’s defence. – The Vibes, October 26, 2023
