Kota Kinabalu: Foreign language skills among University of Malaysia Sabah (UMS) students give added value to graduates to explore various international job opportunities.
UMS Vice Chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Kasim Hj Mansor said the university fully supports programmes that give students space to practise their language skills in the languages they study.
“Mastering more than one language in the era of globalisation is an additional communication skill that can give students a competitive edge on the international scene,”
Dr Kasim said, when officiating the Foreign and Local Language Night organised by the Centre for the Promotion of Knowledge and Language Learning (PPIB) which was read by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Student and Alumni Affairs, Associate Prof Dr Raman Noordin.
