There are certain flavours that feel like home. This Merdeka season, Lapisan Pâtisserie, known for its French-style artisanal bakes, puts a contemporary spin on beloved Malaysian flavours with a new collection of inventive pastries. The Malaysian Favourites’ pastry series will be available from 20th August onwards, set to bring together the nostalgia of familiar local flavours with a modern take.

From the kaya toast that Malaysians grew up reaching for at breakfast to the irresistible comfort of rendang at festive gatherings, these Malaysian favourites have a way of making home feel closer. Now, these familiar flavours are being rediscovered through a fresh perspective that celebrate beloved traditions and simultaneously introduced to a new generation.

“As a homegrown Malaysian brand, we believe that the most meaningful creations are rooted in flavours and stories. This collection is our way of celebrating Malaysia’s rich culinary heritage we grew up with, by taking beloved local flavours and reinterpreting them through the craft of modern pâtisserie. Each creation is made to bring the taste of home to evoke familiarity among Malaysians, while offering our customers a new way to experience flavours they love during this special occasion,” said Darren Sim, Business Development Manager at Lapisan Pâtisserie.

Serving on a plate, the Kaya Butter Crispy Toast (RM8.50) offers a beautifully flaky exterior with thick butter and kaya nestled between the flaky and crisp pastry. For a more delicate treat, the Pandan Coconut Tart (RM16.00) presents an alternative for those who wish to indulge in a velvety crème experience. The tart includes a pineapple and coconut filling, along with creamy pandan and coconut white chocolate. For a heartier choice, the Chicken Rendang Mille Feuille (RM12.50) provides a satisfying combination of chicken and pulut kuning wrapped warmly in a light and airy pastry.

A Special Merdeka Deal To Celebrate the Flavours of Home

To celebrate Malaysia’s 69th Merdeka, Lapisan Pâtisserie invites Malaysians to savour the flavours and memories of home with a special one-day promotion. On 31st August 2026, customers can enjoy their second pastry for just RM6.90, a meaningful tribute to 69 years of Merdeka and the shared traditions that bring Malaysians together.

Available at all Lapisan Pâtisserie outlets across Malaysia for both dine-in and takeaway, the promotion is valid all day and applies to all pastry flavours, while stocks last. Honouring traditional Malaysian flavours while creating memories for today, Lapisan Pâtisserie’s latest creations celebrate the tastes that bring us closer to home.
