Per The Mail, he is likely to leave the club in the summer, which may have been part of his show of emotion at the final whistle at the Etihad Stadium.
Laporte still has a part to play as City chase the second and third parts of a possible historic treble.
They take on Manchester United in the FA Cup final and then play Internazionale in the Champions League final.
