MEMBAKUT: Sabah Ethnic Roots Association (Presbah) President Yahya Ahmad said the Drainage and Irrigation Department (JRS) will propose a larger and more powerful pump to channel water for paddy fields in Kg Pimping.
He said this in addressing the concerns of farmers at Kg Pimping Blocks Seven and Nine, who were troubled by their dried-up paddy fields.
“I immediately contacted the engineers at Beaufort JRS and explained the problem faced by the farmers, and suggested the installation of a larger water pump to connect to the nearest river water source.
“This is to replenish the existing paddy trenches and prevent the fields from drying up further,” he said.
