As a former airline manager and currently as the Chairman of Persatuan Aeroangkasa MyAeroSatu, I know the Ministry of Transport (MOT) is a critical government entity responsible for planning, developing, and regulating a nation's transportation network. It ensures the safe, efficient, and sustainable movement of people and cargo across land, air, and sea. For Economic Growth and Trade Facilitation, the MOT manages ports, airports, and rail networks that act as the backbone for national & international trade. Transport infrastructure projects create thousands of jobs in engineering, construction, and operations. By maintaining modern airports and public transit, the ministry makes the country accessible to domestic and international tourists as well as for business travelers. On Aviation and Maritime Standards, the MOT enforces international safety protocols for commercial airlines and shipping vessels to prevent disasters & green eco-friendly to curb carbon emissions.

So, I encouraged my youngest son, Fariz Azmir when he informed me that he would be participating at the MOT x MIMA Run 2026 in Putrajaya, in the vibrant 11 KM competitive category opened to public. I briefed Fariz that "Kelab Sukan dan Kebajikan Kementerian Pengangkutan (KSKKP) - officially known as the Sports and Welfare Club of MOT - is the dedicated internal organization and responsible for managing the wellness, recreational activities and social welfare of the ministry's workforce. The Secretary General of MOT is the patron, the club operates at the center of the ministry's internal community building. KSKKP frequently designs programs to advocate for a healthy, balanced lifestyle among civil servants, and coordinates welfare initiatives, which include to help members during personal hardships. Its Inter -Agency & Corporate Networking builds critical bridges between the primary ministry and its sub-agencies & corporate partners in the country.
