• Laura Dern has paid tribute to her mother, Oscar-nominated actor Diane Ladd, on the first anniversary of her death at the age of 89.
• The Jurassic Park star shared a black-and-white portrait of Ladd on Instagram, describing her late mother as the light of her life.
• Ladd passed away at her home in California on 3 November 2025 from conditions including acute on chronic hypoxic respiratory failure.
• Across a six-decade career, Ladd featured in more than 200 film and television roles, earning three Academy Award nominations for Best Supporting Actress.
• In 1991, Ladd and Dern became the first mother-daughter pair to be nominated for Oscars for the same movie for their performances in Rambling Rose.
