AS if unaffected by the actions of the authorities, a Ford Mustang was seized for the second time within a month due to its expired Motor Vehicle License (LKM) and lack of insurance coverage.

Kuala Lumpur Road Transport Department (JPJ) Director Hamidi Adam stated that the vehicle had previously been cited by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) for the same violation.

He noted that this marked the second instance of the same vehicle being impounded in the city centre yesterday. "Investigations revealed that the male driver, who identified himself as a 27-year-old lawyer, was driving the vehicle, and it was also discovered that his driving license had expired.

"He asserted that he was on the way home when he was searched and subsequently arrested.

"The vehicle did not belong to him but rather to another person. Further inquiries into the ownership of the car indicated that the owner had recently obtained a quote to renew the LKM," he mentioned in a statement today.

He added that the vehicle needed to be confiscated for further action in accordance with the Road Transport Act 1987.

"JPJ Kuala Lumpur consistently prioritises and monitors all complaints, ensuring that vehicles adhere to the established rules and regulations," he stated. – March 28, 2026
