Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri admits sitting in fourth place has surprised him.
Sarri was speaking before their win at Sassuolo on Sunday.
“(Sporting director Igli) Tare can talk about his sensations, I have my own autonomous brain and can talk about my sensations," said Sarri.
“I simply stated this is how I see it. Lazio achieved at best fourth place, while eighth place was a flop, and anything in between was considered good.
“We are fifth and people are acting as if we're doing badly. Something therefore doesn't add up for me. I have the feeling some clubs are better equipped than we are, but if the lads play like they did today, we can have our say.
“I continue to maintain that fourth place would be going above and beyond any logical expectations."
