Lazio president Claudio Lotito has named Igor Tudor as new coach.
Tudor takes charge after Maurizio Sarri's resignation this week.
Lotito said: The choices are made on the basis of what our beliefs are, these must be functional to achieving the objectives. In Tudor we saw a person who's certainly able to direct the squad, having the experience, the character and the possibility of being able to employ resources in the best possible way."
On his disappointment with Sarri's departure, Lotito also said: I didn't talk about betrayals, it's time to put an end to these things. Everyone must do their duty, I'm the president, the players are the players, and the coach is the coach.
I only said when asked specifically that it came out of the blue, Sarri told me that he had the feeling of having been betrayed. Ask him about it."
