LAHAD DATU: A 44-year-old police corporal was killed when a police van he was driving was crushed by a fallen tree at Jalan Gelugor, Felda Sahabat 16, here, on Friday.
District Police Chief ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail said Corporal Zeno Gungoh was driving from General Operations Force (GOF) Komtek Sahabat 16 area to Pantai Sahabat 16 when the incident occurred at about 2.30pm.
Dzulbaharin said a tree on the right side of the road suddenly fell and landed on the police van and the incident was witnessed by another policeman who was riding a police scrambler motorcycle from the opposite direction.
Zeno died at the scene.
