Kota Kinabalu: Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) called for immediate action against those who leak confidential documents to irresponsible parties.

LDP Vice President Sim Fui said those documents had been misused as weapons to tarnish the reputation of the Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor and the State Government.

“In order to maintain the integrity of our government and protect sensitive information, we must swiftly identify and eliminate these ‘moles’ within our civil service who are responsible for the unauthorised release of confidential documents,” he said.

As a component party in the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah coalition led by Hajiji, Sim said LDP strongly asserts that the land deal would definitely receive approval after thorough review and consensus among Cabinet ministers, thus there should be no questions of power abuse.

“It is essential for the rule of law to prevail and for those who have engaged in such actions to face the consequences of their actions.

We have faith in the law enforcement agencies, and we expect them to carry out a thorough investigation into this matter. It is crucial to uphold the principles of justice and accountability.”

Recently, documents had been shared on social media alleging that Hajiji had abused his power over a land deal in Kudat.

However, Hajiji on Monday clarified that all land applications had undergone the necessary procedures through the Land Utilisation Committee (LUC) meetings and were processed in accordance with established protocols.
