MANILA, Philippines — Broadway legend and international icon Lea Salonga is set to make history as the first Filipina to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Sept. 4, 2026, a career-defining moment that celebrates her impact on theater and film.
In an Instagram post, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced Salonga’s inclusion in the Class of 2026 under the Live Theatre/Live Performance category, placing her among some of the world’s most influential performers.
Salonga made her mark when she won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her role in Miss Saigon. Her performances have since made her a fixture on Broadway and beyond, inspiring generations of theater fans.
Beyond the stage, Salonga became a Disney legend, lending her singing voice to Princess Jasmine in Aladdin and Fa Mulan in Mulan. Her performance of “Reflection” remains one of Disney’s most iconic ballads. Earlier this year, she revisited the song at the D23 Celebration Concert in California.
