- The probe by the county's Department of Human Resources was initiated following leaks of graphic details surrounding the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose records may have been improperly viewed before public release.
- Rivas Hernandez's body was discovered last September inside the trunk of an abandoned Tesla sedan in a Hollywood tow yard, with the vehicle registered to 21-year-old pop musician David Anthony Burke, who performs as D4vd.
- Burke was arrested in April and charged with murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14, and unlawful mutilation of human remains, with prosecutors alleging he was in a sexual relationship with the minor and killed her when she threatened to expose his actions.
- Burke has pleaded not guilty to all charges and is currently being held without bail, with his defense attorneys stating their intent to vigorously defend his innocence ahead of a preliminary hearing rescheduled for July 21.
