Karoline Leavitt said she and other White House staff members had a "little loud prayer" together before Monday's (30 March) briefing to mark Holy Week.

The days between Palm Sunday and Easter - the final week in the season of Lent - are sacred in the Christian faith. Christians commemorate the events leading up to Jesus' death and resurrection.

Before addressing questions from reporters, Leavitt told the room: "Could you hear our 'amen' in there? We just had a little loud prayer as a team."
