Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch is happy being open with his players.

Since his arrival at Elland Road in February earlier this year, Marsch has made it well known that he tries to engage as much as possible with his players on a more personal level.

Marsch re-affirmed his commitment to his coaching principle of honesty in an interview with Sky Sports.

"Some people might not like my openness," said Marsch.

"Some people describe it as an American way, I don't know that every coach in America speaks so openly the way I do.

"I think I don't try to hide from things, I don't try to twist things, I try to be straightforward and honest with myself and with the interactions I have. If people don't like that, I can live with that.

"I think when the team plays well that people tolerate me more for being American or coaching the way I am or my personality. When we aren't as successful, then people pick holes in what I do and who I am. That is normal in this business."
