Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani posted a tweet on Tuesday that suggested they could be ready to hire a new manager.
The Elland Road club are without a head coach after firing Jesse Marsch on Monday.
With a trio of assistant coaches in charge for their Wednesday Premier League game against Manchester United, Radrizzani may hope to have a manager in charge when they face the same opponent at home over the weekend.
He tweeted: "We are on it [finding a new manager]. Hopefully white smoke by tonight or tomorrow [Wednesday morning]."
A fan asked the co-owner on Twitter for an update and got this tweeted response: "Not yet. Need more time. Let's support the lads now. Keep you posted."
