Leeds United U21s defender Harvey Sutcliffe is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Sutcliffe suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury. Sutcliffe picked up the problem during the 1-0 win over Sunderland on Monday, in which he provided the assist for Wilfried Gnonto's winner.

Given Leeds' shortage of left backs across both the first team and U21s, Sutcliffe had been doing a solid job filling in that position for Michael Skubala's team.

However, he is now set for several months out of action and wrote this on his Instagram: “Another 3 points, I'm gutted for the injury, the road to recovery starts now."
