
KENINGAU: Sabah Women’s Affairs Department (Jhewa) Director Hajah Haslina Ismail said the Sabah Women’s Legal Aid Centre received 2,108 participants and helped 200 last year.
She said the centre has 17 panels of lawyers throughout Sabah who help and represent women in court in civil, Syariah and customary cases.
“The centre, which was set up in 2018, also provides legal advice, mediation and legal awareness services to women and anyone who needs help in accordance with the wishes and goals of its establishment,” she said.
