Legendary investigative journalist Roger Cook dies aged 83

  • Legendary ITV broadcaster Roger Cook has passed away at the age of 83, his family announced.
  • His family confirmed on Monday, 15 June, that he died peacefully on Saturday after a short illness. In tribute, they called Cook a “beloved husband and father” and acknowledged his “distinguished and award-winning career”.
  • Cook was widely known for his decades-spanning career as one of British television's most prolific investigative journalists.
  • He hosted the current affairs programme The Cook Report for 16 years, for which he received a Bafta special award in 1997.
  • ITV praised his fearless contribution to journalism, noting his tireless work in exposing criminal wrongdoing and injustice, which helped drive important and lasting changes in the law.
