Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has explained his Patson Daka for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall substitution in the 2-2 draw against Brentford.
The Foxes were 2-0 up in the game, and 2-1 up when Rodgers took off goalscorer Dewsbury-Hall for Daka.
Brentford went on to equalise and sneak a draw, with Rodgers not making any other substitutions.
Explaining his substitute, he stated, per Leicestershire Live: "They had the back three and then having one striker up there with (James) Maddison in behind, their outside centre-halves were stepping in that little bit more.
"We looked to put two strikers up against it to try to manage it, knowing that you're going to be deeper but then when you win it knowing you can break away on the counter-attack.
"We still had three in midfield. It worked really well for us in that period, we adjusted to the change. The two goals were two goals we could have avoided.
"I did think about it (making more substitutions). Looking at the game, and looking at how it was, and when they scored, it was really a case that our back-line was in control for most of the game. With them putting the extra bodies up front, we stay on that and keep the numbers there.
"Wilf is very important for us defensively, he could have been crisper and clearer with the ball today but defensively he is important for us. Youri and James are experienced now and you are hoping they can manage the game while having that threat up front. I did think about it, but I left it as it was."
