Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana admits France's World Cup squad is a target.
Fofana has been told he is not for sale at Leicester.
He told the Telegraph: "I would be lying if I said the World Cup wasn't on my mind because it's a big goal for me. I am French and of course I want to represent my national team. The coach has his own ideas and a team already in place but I really want to be there.
"Every player has to work hard - if he is a little lazy for his club, he will be left out.
"This must be the objective of any player. I not only want to win trophies, but try to be the best defender in my position in the world."
