Free agent Alex Smithies is set to sign with Leicester City.
The Telegraph's John Percy is reporting Leicester are set to land ex-Cardiff goalkeeper Smithies, 32, on a free transfer.
Leicester are hoping to make further additions before transfer deadline day but are first looking to offload fringe players like Boubakary Soumare and Jannik Vestergaard to raise funds.
Percy tweeted: "[Leicester] close to their first signing of the summer - ex-Cardiff & Huddersfield goalkeeper Alex Smithies in talks over a move on a free transfer.
"The 32yo was recently on trial at [Bournemouth]. Leicester hopeful of further additions through the exits of players inc Soumare & Vestergaard."
