- Lena Headey, known for her role as Cersei Lannister in Game of Thrones, says there are far fewer roles available for older women in recent years.
- Her agent recently informed her that potential projects have dropped from around 35 at a time to just five, with only one featuring a female character over 35.
- “That’s about one or two possible jobs in 12 months. And every other actress of the same age is waiting for the same thing,” she said.
- Headey, 52, is proactively creating new opportunities by writing, directing, and starring in projects, including the new Radio 4 and BBC Sounds comedy-drama Intimacy.
- The series sees Headey play intimacy co-ordinator Liza Simmons, who is working on a new film adaptation of Lady Chatterley’s Lover.
