Lettuce sold at Walmart included in Taylor Farms recall over cyclospora outbreak

  • Walmart shoppers have been warned against eating multiple products that are included in the recall triggered by the “explosive diarrhea” cyclospora outbreak.
  • Taylor Farms de Mexico of Guanajuato, Mexico, announced on July 17 that they were removing all iceberg lettuce sourced from central Mexico from the U.S. market.
  • Taylor Fresh Foods’ recall notice includes two Marketside-brand products available at Walmart: 12-oz and 24-oz Iceberg Salad with Best if Used By dates 7/18/2026 to 8/3/2026 and 8-oz and 16-oz Shredded Lettuce with Best if Used By dates July 18th to Aug 3rd 2026.
  • A complete list of affected products distributed to Taylor Fresh Foods food service customers including lot codes, use-by dates, and instructions for returning or disposing of the affected product is available on the company’s recall notice.
  • It comes after Taco Bell was linked to the outbreak after receiving lettuce from the supplier.
