MANILA, Philippines—Batangas First District Rep. Leandro Leviste on Thursday said that he has evidence to prove that some personalities accepted kickbacks from anomalous projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways and he is ready to reveal everything "at the right time."

He said that he has been advised that now is not the right time to release the evidence but he has prepared videos to ensure that "the truth" will come out if something happens to him.

"Once this evidence is released, you will understand why they are attacking me—it is because of their fear of what I will reveal. However, we will not be shaken by baseless accusations, and the truth will emerge in due time. When that time comes, I hope you will understand why I was advised that now was not the right time to speak," Leviste said.

Leviste earlier claimed that some "representatives of the administration" had approached his mother, Sen. Loren Legarda, to convince him to go abroad and prevent him from revealing further information on the flood control scandal.

This led Leviste to file a travel authority from February to July where he is set to visit at least 20 countries.

In a statement, Leviste reiterated that he had no desire to travel abroad.

He expressed hope that former Public Works Secretary Manuel Bonoan, Undersecretary Roberto Bernardo and other current and former DPWH officials would "share the truth."
