Lexus is Asean summit’s official mobility partner

LUXURY car brand Lexus has been chosen as the official vehicle for delegates and officials participating in this year’s Asean summit, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) said on Tuesday.

In a statement, TMP said Lexus’ hybrid electric vehicles such as the LS500 and LM350, will be used to transport heads of state and official delegates across key summit locations in the country, including Cebu and Manila.

“By serving as the official mobility partner for Asean 2026, we aim to demonstrate how secure, seamless mobility can coexist with a deep commitment to nation-building and a sustainable future,” Toyota Motor Philippines President Masando Hashimoto said.

“Through our electrified lineup, we are providing more than just transport for the region’s highest-level engagements but we are also showcasing a forward-thinking pathway to electrified elegance that prioritizes both quiet refinement and our collective responsibility toward a greener, more resilient Asean,” he added.

TMP also underscored Lexus’ robust charging infrastructure and dealer support network, which it said ensures that premium electric driving remains practical and convenient across key areas in the country.

The Asean National Organizing Council said the deployment of electrified vehicles was aligned with the regional bloc’s priorities on environmental sustainability, climate resilience and energy security.

TMP said it would also support the Asean Business Advisory Council’s transport needs by providing shuttle van service for working members involved in Asean-Business Advisory Council key events.

TMP is a unit of listed GT Capital Holdings Inc., whose shares on Tuesday dropped P8.00, or 1.67 percent, to close at P470 each.
