LG has claimed a new record: world’s first native Full HD 1000Hz gaming monitor, in which the title goes to its new UltraGear 25G590B gaming monitor. Unlike some of the models that claimed world-first to reach the 1000Hz mark, they all share a common flaw – such refresh rate is only available through dynamic frequency and resolution (DFR) at just 720p resolution.

Suffice to say this new model is designed for not much else other than the world of competitive FPS gaming, and having a full native 1080p resolution operating at 1000Hz makes for much improved image quality without sacrificing one or the other. The IPS panel responsible for such extreme speeds is fitted within the bounds of a 24.5-inch display, which LG says uses low-reflection film to reduce glare. There’s also the Motion Blur Reduction Pro feature that uses backlight strobing to minimize motion blur for human eyes.
The UltraGear 25G590B also includes an adjustable stand which supports height, swivel and tilt adjustments, and for esports pros, LG has included calibration indicators on the stand itself so players can easily replicate preferred monitor positions across different setups. The stand is also designed to take minimal footprint to free up desk space for other peripherals.
There’s a few AI-branded features sprinkled on this monitor, including AI Scene Optimization that automatically adjusts display settings according to game genre, whereas AI Sound is designed to improve spatial audio performance and voice communication clarity when paired with compatible headsets. Behind the monitor you’ll find the usual UltraGear design ID with RGB lighting on the logo itself.
While not all specs has been revealed thus far, LG said the UltraGear 25G590B gaming monitor is expected to launch in selected markets during the second half of 2026, with broader market availability planned later in the year.
Pokdepinion: I imagine even RTX 5090 will struggle to keep up at this resolution and speed.
