Liberty Flour executives receive subpoena over building sale complaint

MANILA, Philippines — Liberty Flour Mills Inc. on Tuesday said that its corporate secretary, William L. Ang, received a subpoena on June 29 from the Office of the City Prosecutor of Pasig in connection with a complaint filed by Stella Marie Jill Uy over documents relating to the sale of the Liberty Building.

Its subsidiary LFM Properties Corp. separately disclosed that its representative, Jose S. Jalandoni, also received a subpoena arising from the same complaint.

The complaint names Ang, Jalandoni, and John Carlos Uy and refers to an alleged violation of Article 172(1), in relation to Article 171(4), of the Revised Penal Code.

The disclosures said Uy signed the Deed of Absolute Sale on behalf of Liberty Flour, while Jalandoni signed for LFM Properties.

Ang was named in his capacity as Liberty Flour's corporate secretary in connection with the issuance of a secretary's certificate related to the transaction.
