
KOTA KINABALU: A 49-year-old civil servant pleaded not guilty at the Special Corruption Court here to 30 charges of corruption involving over RM87,000.
Normila Ladahali, an acting administrative officer with the State Library Department, entered her plea before Sessions Court Judge Jason Juga.
She was accused of soliciting and receiving RM87,811.30 through her children’s bank accounts between April 2022 and October 2023 as inducement for awarding departmental projects.
Normila faces 18 counts under Section 17(a) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009 and 12 under Section 165 of the Penal Code.
The court fixed Nov 27 for mention and allowed her bail of RM20,000 with a RM2,000 deposit, one local surety, and conditions including surrendering her passport and reporting to the MACC every two months.
