MINISTER of Tourism, Culture and Environment Datuk Seri Christina Liew extended a warm welcome to Hong Kong’s famous actor Hugo Tsz-Hang Wong when the latter paid a courtesy call on her on Monday.

Liew encouraged the 42-year-old first-time visitor to visit more destinations, including the islands off Kota Kinabalu.

“Since you are fascinated by Sabah’s natural beauty and adventure tourism, we hope you will consider shooting a movie here in the near future. We will support you,” she told the actor who is known for his movies such as “The White Storm”, “Line Walker”, and “As The Light Goes Out”.

Sharing his thrilling experience, Wong said he had a great time on Dreamer’s Island Sepanggar where he tried his hand at sea walking and parachuting, apart from touring Kinabalu Park, Kundasang, among other places of interest. “I have fallen in love with the environmental beauty of Kinabalu Park. The air here is clean and cool, too. It is an ideal place for making a movie,” he remarked.

The actor was accompanied by Kota Kinabalu prominent businessman Datuk Kapitan Li Su Fook and movie director Taddy Ng from Hong Kong.

Kapitan Li introduced the actor to Sabah when they met in Hong Kong last year. Pic shows Liew with Kapitan Li, Wong and Ng.
