Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders has indicated that his team will keep their group intact this winter.

The Reds are not going to make any significant signings in the coming weeks.

Jurgen Klopp's side spent significant money in the summer, with most of it going to their midfield.

"We spent a lot money in the summer," said the Reds assistant manager.

"We really invested in the squad, the ownership really brought in the right players. Even when you have the injuries we have at the moment, they will be back in not that long hopefully.

"I think the difference between a good season and a top season is when you are going through these phases, how the squad reacts when players are missing. Mo going, how do (Diogo) Jota, Cody (Gakpo), Darwin (Nunez) and Lucho (Lios Diaz), how they step up, Harvey (Elliott) too.

"Then we always believe in the Academy as well. I think one thing is that you want to produce your own players to be able to fight, to compete and to win prizes. And the other reason why we have an Academy with 250 players there, they are running and dreaming and hoping in that in these moments when it's harder and the season gets tough in terms of injuries, that they can back you. They so far always did."
