Kota Kinabalu: The Likas Stadium is set to undergo renovation soon in preparation for Sabah FC’s involvement in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup competition and also with Kota Kinabalu being hosts for the Sabah Games later this year.

Major works will be carried out on the resurfacing of the synthetic running track as well as upgrading the scoreboard and other facilities in the venue.

Sabah FC Chief Executive Officer Marzuki Nasir, who led a delegate to pay Youth and Sports Ministry’s permanent secretary Datuk Mansur Asun a visit at his office on Thursday, said the upgrading of facilities is necessary to comply with the specifications as needed by the Malaysian Football League (MFL) and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) to host the competition.
