Lindsay Clancy jury once again tells judge they can’t reach a verdict

• The jury in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial has once again been ordered to keep deliberating after telling the judge, for a second time, that they can’t agree on a verdict.
• Jurors resumed deliberations for a fifth day Wednesday morning. At around 2:15 p.m., they sent a note to the judge, saying they still could not come to an agreement.
• The judge again instructed them to keep trying, a common instruction in criminal trials when juries say they're having trouble reaching a verdict.
• If jurors can’t agree on a verdict, the judge could declare a mistrial. Prosecutors would then have to decide whether to put Clancy on trial again, drop the charges or try to negotiate a plea deal with her lawyer.
• Clancy, a former labor and delivery nurse in Massachusetts, doesn’t deny strangling her three children in their home in 2023. But her attorney argues that postpartum psychosis led to her actions. Prosecutors say she knew what she was doing.
