Sir Lindsay Hoyle scolded MPs for their language during the first Prime Minister's Questions since Sir Keir Starmer announced his resignation.
It came after Kemi Badenoch said the prime minister had been "betrayed" and described Sir Keir's ministers as "incompetent."
The Conservative leader also called the education secretary "spiteful."
"When we leave this chamber, don't be surprised when constituents feel they can use the same language against each other," the Speaker of the House of Commons told politicians on Wednesday (24 June).
